Elevator Pitch: With over 15 years of experience in accounting, I spent the first 6-7 years in public tax accounting, preparing and reviewing tax returns for high-net-worth individuals and small to mid-size businesses. I then transitioned into the tech startup world, focusing on building internal accounting and finance processes to establish a solid foundation for scalable growth. I've worked with companies ranging from 300 to nearly 900 employees, enhancing efficiencies and strengthening internal controls by leveraging various accounting and finance tools with a lean team.
Certifications: IRS Enrolled Agent
SaaS tools of Choice: QBO(QuickBooks Online) for bookkeeping/accounting needs. Expensify for expenses. And finally, an absolute must for accounting/finance, Excel or Gsheet.
Consulting Style: I start by thoroughly understanding the business and seeing things from their perspective. I'm not afraid to dig into the details and get hands-on to uncover the root of any issue. After a deep dive, I break down all the key elements into the simplest terms, making it easy to streamline processes and boost efficiency.
Coaching Style: Be as simple as possible and lay things out in a way that anyone without any accounting/finance knowledge can pick it up and understand. Transparency is key and it’s all about educating people through the numbers
Secret Sauce: Laying the foundation for a solid structure is the greatest backbone to any business. Once you have achieved this, everything will come together with time. Many businesses overlook this, that’s when it puts tremendous pressure on the back office which causes the foundation to crumble.
Spirit Animal: If I had to choose, I would base it off my Chinese Zodiac animal which is a tiger. There are definitely traits that I relate to, such as hard-working. However, there are traits that I still need to work on such as creativity.
Words To Live By: Always be a student
